Norton is the smallest independent city in the Commonwealth, surrounded by Wise County and tucked into the heart of the Southwest Virginia coalfields. Despite its size, the city has long served as a regional commercial center for the surrounding ridges and hollows. Flag Rock Recreation Area rises directly above downtown and is home to the famed Woodbooger statue, while the High Knob Recreation Area to the south sits at one of the highest points in the state. On a clear day, the tower at High Knob offers a view that reaches across five states: Virginia, Tennessee, Kentucky, North Carolina, and West Virginia. The Country Cabin Music Park keeps the area’s mountain music tradition alive with regular shows.

From Norton, the trip to our Lebanon offices runs roughly fifty-five to sixty-five minutes, heading east on US-58 Alternate through Coeburn and St. Paul before picking up US-19 toward Lebanon. Norton-area clients come to us for outpatient counseling, EMDR therapy for adults, teens, and children ages 7 and older, and psychiatric medication management with our nurse practitioner. For adults whose depression has not improved with first-line antidepressants, we also offer GeneSight® pharmacogenomic testing and Spravato® (esketamine) at the East Main Office.
