Krista Sutherland, M.Ed., LPC
Krista Sutherland is a Licensed Professional Counselor with 10 years of experience providing counseling services to individuals across the lifespan. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Human Services and Counseling in 2015 and her Master of Education in Counseling and Human Development in 2017, both from Lindsey Wilson University.
Krista believes that many of the patterns we struggle with as adults have roots in earlier experiences. Painful relationships, trauma, unmet emotional needs, and the messages we receive throughout our lives can shape the way we see ourselves, relate to others, and respond to the world around us. Her approach focuses not only on managing symptoms, but also on helping clients understand where those patterns began and how healing can take place at a deeper level.
Her counseling philosophy centers on
- Healing the inner child
- Processing trauma
- Identifying and challenging negative belief systems
- Reframing the thoughts and beliefs that can keep us feeling stuck
She helps clients develop greater awareness of the connection between past experiences and present-day emotions, relationships, behaviors, and beliefs. Through compassion, curiosity, and self-awareness, clients can begin to recognize old patterns, challenge beliefs that no longer serve them, and develop a healthier and more compassionate understanding of themselves. Krista believes strongly that healing happens through connection: in our relationship with ourselves, in healthy relationships with others, and, for those who desire it, through faith.
For clients who would like their faith to be part of the counseling process, Krista welcomes the opportunity to incorporate Christian faith, biblical principles, and spirituality into therapy. She recognizes that faith can be an important source of hope, meaning, identity, and strength throughout the healing process. Faith integration is always based on the individual client’s preferences and comfort level.
Above all, Krista strives to provide a safe, compassionate, authentic, and nonjudgmental environment where clients feel genuinely heard and supported.
Whether you are working through painful experiences from the past, struggling with the way you see yourself, recognizing patterns you want to change, or simply feeling ready for something in your life to be different, Krista’s goal is to meet you where you are and walk alongside you as you move toward greater understanding, healing, and growth.
