Counseling and Psychiatric Care for Richlands, VA.

Our Lebanon offices welcome clients from Richlands. Telehealth is also available across Virginia.

Pioneer Counseling Center serves Richlands and the surrounding Tazewell County communities with outpatient counseling, EMDR therapy, psychiatric medication management, and specialized treatments. Both of our offices are located in Lebanon.

If an in-person visit doesn’t fit your schedule, telehealth sessions are available for established clients located anywhere in Virginia.

About Richlands

The Clinch River valley.

Richlands sits along the Clinch River in western Tazewell County, where the valley broadens and gives the town its name. Clinch Valley Medical Center anchors regional healthcare here, and Southwest Virginia Community College, just down the road in Cedar Bluff, sends students through town every weekday. The Clinch itself is one of the most biologically diverse rivers in North America, with more native freshwater mussel species than nearly any other temperate-zone river in the world, a quiet point of pride for the families who’ve grown up along it.

From Richlands, both of our Lebanon offices are generally about a thirty to thirty-five minute drive west on US-460. The Pioneer Drive Office, on the north side of Lebanon, is home to our counseling team and offers EMDR therapy for trauma, anxiety, and difficult memories in adults, teens, and children ages 7 and older. The East Main Office houses psychiatric medication management with April Colley, FNP-BC, PMHNP, GeneSight® pharmacogenetic testing, and Spravato® treatment for adults with treatment-resistant depression. We work regularly with referring providers at Clinch Valley Medical Center and at primary care offices throughout the Richlands and Cedar Bluff area.

The drive over to Lebanon is a familiar one for many Richlands families, but on a rough week, or when work or school schedules tighten, telehealth is a good alternative. Established clients can meet with their provider by secure video from home or any private space in Virginia. The goal is to make consistent care possible, week after week, in whatever form makes that most likely.
